A must do Christmas experience
The annual First Credit Union Christmas Parade is a must do Christmas experience for the young and young at heart. Come and join us for the festival fantasy as around 80-90 floats parade down Anglesea Street in central Hamilton on Sunday, the 8th December 2024.
This years’ beloved holiday parade features colourful grand floats representing the unique communities of Hamilton. Come and join us to see crazy characters, lively marching bands, dance group, ethnic groups, characters, amazing character balloons, and of course Santa Claus!
The Parade starts at the corner of Rostrevor and Anglesea Streets, travels down Anglesea Street, and ends at the corner of Anglesea and Knox Streets. The length of the route is 1.2km.
- Pre-parade 1.15pm – 2pm includes colourful characters and our Corporate Clowns handing out lollies.
- The parade starts at 2pm.
This year we will be celebrating on Sunday, the 8th December 2024.
Important info
Road Closures: Anglesea Street (from Mill to Rostrevor Street) will be closed from 7:00am to 5:00pm Sunday and a full road closure of Anglesea Street between Mill Street and Knox Street will be start at 12:30 pm. We will work to reopen the roads as quickly as possible after the parade concludes.
The parade dispersal area will be on Knox Street, where no parking will be from 6:00am to 5:30pm, with a full closure from 1:00pm to 5:30pm Sunday. These closures will apply to all vehicles except for authorised and emergency vehicles.

Kids: It’s always such a fun day, but just in case they get a little too excited and wander off, make sure to write your phone number on their arm.
